Best NP licensing services in 2026,
compared honestly.

Seven services, ours included. For each one: what they publish for an NP state application, whether they take individual NPs, one thing they do well, and one limitation you can check yourself.

We sell one of the seven, so our own entry answers the same questions, down to naming the two services that publish a lower price than ours.

How we checked, and what we sell.

We opened each company’s own public pages on August 21, 2026 and wrote down what those pages publish: the price for an NP state application, whether they take individual nurse practitioners, what the service covers, and one limitation you can confirm yourself. Every entry carries its links and that date.

We left out numbers a company publishes without a source of its own, and we left out turnaround claims. Where a company publishes nothing, the entry says so, because a missing price is itself a fact about buying from them.

The entries run alphabetically, which happens to put us last. We sell one of these services, and our entry uses the same fields as the other six.

Prices and policies change without notice. Open the link on an entry before you act on it.

Seven services, the same questions for each.

Which one to pick.

You want the DEA or CSR price up front.

BlueShift Licensing. The only service here publishing an NP license price ($275) and a DEA or CSR price ($175) on one page, plus a written guarantee covering their own filing mistakes.

You’d rather not talk to anyone, or your employer is paying.

DirectShifts. $299 per state for NPs and PAs through a self-serve form, $100 per renewal, and published employer rates so the company hiring you sees a number too.

You want to configure the order yourself.

MedicalLicensing.com. A page for all 50 states plus DC and Puerto Rico, an order form that takes NP as a profession, and published add-ons. The licensing fee itself comes on a consultation.

You’re a physician, or licensing ten or more states at once.

MedLicense.com. A physician licensing service since 2001 that publishes its own track record. Individual NPs get in only through a corporate account or a ten-state project.

You want a flat published fee and a tracking dashboard.

Medtigo. $425 per state for advanced practice providers, status tracking inside their app, and a dedicated point of contact. Confirm which tier an NP falls in before you buy.

You need CE tracking and a security review your compliance lead can read.

Mocingbird. CME management for individual clinicians starts at $199 a year, beside the most documented security posture here. The licensing work itself is quoted, not priced.

You’re an NP adding states, or a telehealth team adding clinicians.

Us. $350 per state application with board fees at cost, $149 a month if you want renewals tracked too, and people who file the applications instead of software you drive.

When we’re not the right fit.

We sell one of the seven above, so here is where we would send you somewhere else.

  • If the lowest published fee decides it, ours is not the lowest. DirectShifts publishes $299 per state for NPs and BlueShift publishes $275.
  • If you need one renewal handled and nothing else, a per-renewal price beats a membership. BlueShift publishes $75 per renewal and DirectShifts publishes $100. Busy NP is $149 a month and earns its keep when you are carrying several licenses at once.
  • If what you actually need is credentialing and payer enrollment, that is a different product. Medallion, CertifyOS, and Assured build platforms for it. We do licensing.
  • If you want software your own team drives, we are the wrong shape. Our team does the filing, and there is no product to run yourself.
  • If you want a promise that a board will approve you, or a date it will land, no service on this page can make that call. Boards do. We will not pretend otherwise.

None of that is modesty. Signing a client who needed a different thing costs us more than the sale was worth.

Questions about this comparison.

Pick one. Even if it isn’t us.

If our entry is the one that fits, an application is $350 per state and board fees pass through at cost. Everything we charge is on the pricing page.

If a different entry fits you better, take its link. We would rather you pick correctly than pick us.
